Why Choose Chevy SUVs?

There is no denying that when it comes to finding an SUV, you have a lot of choices available to you. SUVs and crossovers have become incredibly popular over the last couple of decades; this has resulted in pretty much every manufacturer in the auto industry offering at least one SUV. But that does not mean that they are all created equal, and while there are plenty of great models out there, Chevy simply does things a little bit better.

For one thing, Chevy SUVs include such a wide range of vehicles that no matter what you are looking for, you can find a Chevy model that has what you need. With a lot of other manufacturers, you can get stuck trying to decide between two options that are not quite right. Chevy SUVs give you so many size options and model features that you can narrow down your choices to get exactly what you need.

Choosing the Right Size

One of the most important decisions you need to make when choosing between different Chevy SUVs is figuring out which size is right for you. This can seem fairly minor, but a lot of your long-term functionality and ease of use will depend on the decision you make here. To keep things simple, consider the following size options and what each brings to the table:

  • Compact – This is typically the smallest category you will find (though some manufacturers make sub-compact models that are even smaller). These Chevy SUVs are a great choice if you need a vehicle to routinely fit four or five people while keeping your overall vehicle requirements pretty modest.
  • Small – If you want something with more interior room, and similar overall size to a compact model, then a small Chevy SUV is a great choice. It can still fit into a modest lifestyle but gives you more space for your passengers and cargo.
  • Midsize – This is a great size category if you want something that is not-too-big and not-too-small. A midsize model can have either two or three rows of seating, so this is a good choice for growing and big families. You also get a lot of interior space to take whatever you need with you.
  • Full-Size – As one of the biggest categories you will find, full-size Chevy SUVs have three rows of seating, giving you room for up to nine people. These are big, powerful SUVs that are perfect for loading up for a weekend of camping or serious tailgating.

You will find at least one Chevy SUV in each of these categories, and some of them may have more than one model available. So no matter what you need, we can help you find it.

Engine Options and Performance

As you look at different Chevy SUV models, you will see a pretty wide range of engines offered on them. Most models have more than one engine available, typically determined by the trim level you are interested in. This lets you get just the right level of power and performance for the kind of driving that you do the most.

If you want a large Chevy SUV with the muscle to do some towing and handle everyone and everything you need to take with you, then make sure you choose a powerful engine with plenty of torque to get you where you need to go. Even with a smaller or midsize option, having a powerful engine can make driving one of these Chevy SUVs a lot more fun. Consider all of your options when looking at available engines in any model, and then choose the one that will provide the most fun, responsive driving experience.

Interior Features to Consider

Since most of your time with your Chevy SUV is going to be spent inside of it, we strongly recommend you put a good deal of consideration into choosing the right interior style and features. These features will often be impacted by the trim level you choose, which is why these kinds of decisions are so important. Your trim level can dictate the engines you have available, as well as the interior tech and comfort options offered, so consider the trim carefully.

You want to look at the available comfort and luxury features before choosing the Chevy SUV that is right for you. While leather seating certainly looks stunning, it might not be right if you have kids that you need to protect your upholstery from. The right choice really comes down to your situation and getting the features that best meet your particular needs.

From intuitive Infotainment systems that are easy to use, to amazing speakers that provide stunning audio throughout the cabin, you have a lot of options to choose from in Chevy SUVs. Be sure to get the technology that will work best for you and make your driving experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. There are even secondary entertainment packages available for passengers behind the front row, which can make a road trip with kids much more pleasant.

Safety Is Most Important

Perhaps the most important aspect of Chevy SUVs is the huge selection of safety features standard and available on them. Not only are these vehicles designed to be as safe as possible, but they include a number of excellent safety features like airbags and electronic stability control with traction control. Impressive safety technology is also available on most Chevy SUVs, including parking assist features, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot alerts to warn you about a vehicle you might not see.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is the newest and most affordable of the Chevy SUVs. But despite its low price tag, the 2021 Trailblazer provides incredible performance and capability. With more internal volume and engine power than the Chevy Trax, the Chevy Trailblazer fully lives up to its aggressive styling. Five trims of this subcompact SUV are available, although the all-wheel drive variants sport an upgraded drivetrain that uses a nine-speed automatic transmission instead of a continuously variable transmission. The L and LS trims are the base versions and are perfect for drivers seeking no-frills transportation, while the LT trim adds numerous luxury features from keyless entry to power seats.

However, the 2021 Trailblazer really comes alive with its RS and ACTIV trims. Not only do these two trims include all the luxury features of the LT trim, but they also improve the Trailblazer’s performance. The RS trim is sport-inspired and comes standard with 18-inch gloss black wheels on top of a larger mesh grille and other unique styling elements. Meanwhile, the ACTIV trim is aimed at off-roading and includes sport terrain tires, a functional skid plate, and a redesigned bumper for superior ground clearance. And both of these top trims can also be had in a variety of stylish two-tone paint schemes.

2020 Chevy Trax

Drivers seeking SUV utility and a car-like fuel economy will find no better option than the 2020 Chevy Trax. This subcompact SUV is a perfect blend of both worlds and makes an excellent do it all vehicle for people who need more than a car can provide without stepping all the way up to a full-size SUV. Able to achieve 28 MPG, the 2020 Chevy Trax is easy on your wallet while still offering lots of cargo space, plenty of ground clearance, and even all-wheel drive. Plus, its subdued upscale looks will never be out of place no matter the occasion.

There are only three trims for the 2020 Chevy Trax, but they cover a good range of features and price points. The LS trim is the most affordable, but it still has enough features to be a more than comfortable car, and unlike many base trim SUVs, it is available with all-wheel drive. The middle LT trim comes with a few more standard features and some extra options, including a more comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies, making it a high-value choice. Finally, the top Premier trim is a richly appointed vehicle that includes numerous upgrades from its standard fog lights to its Bose premium audio system.

2020 Chevy Equinox

The Equinox has long been the best selling of the Chevy SUVs and for a good reason. As a compact SUV, there is little that it cannot do. With comfortable seating for five and over 60 cubic feet of cargo space, the 2020 Equinox is more than capable of moving both people and cargo. The Equinox is also among the fastest SUVs that Chevy builds when it is equipped with its optional 252 horsepower turbocharged engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. Altogether, there are few vehicles that are as well rounded and versatile as this compact SUV.

The L and LS trims are the base versions of the 2020 Equinox and are only available with the standard engine, although the LS trim is slightly better equipped and can be configured with a much larger variety of options that includes all-wheel drive. But for maximum power and convenience, the LT and Premier trims are the way to go. In particular, the Premier trim stands out with standard items such as a hands-free power liftgate, full LED exterior lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. But no matter the trim, the 2020 Chevy Equinox is an excellent choice for almost any driver.

2020 Chevy Blazer

With its aggressive styling and available V6 engine, the 2020 Chevy Blazer resembles a taller and more practical version of the iconic Chevy Camaro sports car. The Blazer is also the largest of Chevy’s two-row SUVs and offers slightly more interior volume and engine power than the Chevy Equinox. However, the greatest advantage of the Chevy Blazer over the other two-row Chevy SUVs is its wider array of standard and optional features. When fully equipped, it even sports luxury car features such as an automatic heated steering wheel, 360 degree HD camera views, and heated rear seats.

Although the 2020 Chevy Blazer has no fewer than six different trims, most of them share a simple numbering scheme that makes them easy to distinguish. The L and 1LT trims are the starting versions and are only available in front-wheel drive with a base 2.5L engine. The 2LT and 3LT trims come standard with a more powerful turbocharged engine and can be optioned with the V6 engine as well as all-wheel drive. Finally, the RS and Premier trims come standard with the V6 on top of their numerous luxury features.

2021 Chevy Tahoe

For the 2021 model year, the Chevy Tahoe has been redesigned from the ground up to make it more comfortable and more capable than ever before. The central element of this redesign was the switch to an independent rear suspension that provides superior comfort and handling while massively expanding rear legroom and cargo space. In fact, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe actually offers more third-row legroom and cargo volume than the substantially larger 2020 Chevy Suburban. But not only is the new Tahoe far more versatile, it is also packed with new technology and features from its rear seat infotainment system that includes dual 12.6 inch touch screens to its panoramic power sunroof that stretches nearly the full length of the vehicle.

All four trim levels of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe are comfortable and well-equipped, and even the base LT trim comes standard with power seats, a hands-free power liftgate, and a premium Bose sound system. The middle Premier trim builds on this already extremely comfortable foundation with a collection of standard and optional features ranging from a power-adjustable steering column to a 15-inch head-up display. The brand new Z71 trim is actually a slight downgrade from the Premier trim in terms of comfort, but it brings off-road upgrades from skid plates to air ride suspension. Finally, the top High Country trim is not only filled with luxury features; it also replaces the standard 5.8L V8 engine with a larger and more powerful 6.2L V8 that produces 420 horsepower.

2021 Chevy Suburban

Like the closely related Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban has been completely redesigned for the 2021 model year. With the same independent rear suspension, the new Suburban now has 36.7 inches of third-row legroom and an incredible 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space that can accommodate items measuring 8.75 feet in length. This much improved interior volume makes the 2021 Suburban an unrivaled choice for drivers who need to transport passengers and cargo through bad weather and across rough terrain. But while it is significantly larger than the Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban otherwise shares the same features and trim levels. This means that choosing between these two excellent Chevy SUVs is purely a matter of how much interior space you require.
