The all-new fourth-generation Chevy Equinox has arrived on the scene in spectacular fashion. Rivaling other compact SUVs in the space, such as the Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, and Honda CR-V, the 2025 Chevy Equinox makes a big splash in a big way with all-new styling, performance, and trims. Built with today's modern driver in mind, the new generation Equinox introduces drivers to more tech, a more capable compact, and new and improved safety features. The two-row, five-seater represents the pinnacle of the compact segment within Chevy's lineup of vehicles and one of the best-selling under the Chevy label that continues to etch a new pathway forward for eager SUV shoppers.
The all-new 2025 Equinox is headlined with a completely overhauled trim lineup. There are now three trims to choose from: the very customizable LT, a newly styled, performance-driven RS, and the first-ever, off-road capable ACTIV. The ACTIV brings an entirely new level of personality to the Equinox ecosystem, emboldening drivers to blaze a path away from the paved roads and into uncharted territory. This is all possible thanks to design cues and features made to accommodate off-road traversal, including all-wheel drive functionality, all-terrain tires, and a rugged new fascia.
The new model year also offers an updated exterior color scheme, with new two-tone color options and a varied palette for those who like to step out of the box, giving shoppers 11 colors to choose from for the ACTIV and RS and 16 for the LT. The 2025 Equinox also comes equipped with a fresh interior design, made to be more convenient and comfortable than any previous model year. With new powertrain capabilities, updated infotainment features, and expanded safety features, the new generation Chevy Equinox is a robust and functionally versatile compact SUV at your fingertips.

Part of the appeal of the new generation Chevy Equinox is in its design. It has received stylish exterior and interior changes. The LT trim offers a more refined fascia with sharp lines and a sleek exterior, while the RS trim's fascia is more performance-focused, and the ACTIV has a bold, aggressive look. Different aluminum wheel designs are available for each trim; 17-inch machined wheels come with the ACTIV, while the RS sports 19-inch machined wheels and an available 20-inch option. Additionally, remodeled fender flares, squared wheel openings, a 2.3-inch wider stance than the outgoing model, and a shark fin C-pillar combine to bring you a bold new look on the beloved Equinox.
Available colors for the 2025 Equinox include Mosaic Black Metallic, Summit White, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, Cacti Green, Reef Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. When it comes to the exciting two-tone designs available, you have the options of Mosaic Black Metallic and Summit White, Sterling Gray Metallic and Summit White, Cacti Green and Summit White, Reef Metallic and Summit White, and Radiant Red Tintcoat and Summit White.
The 2025 Equinox is powered by a single engine available in different configurations based on the trim. Chevy has fitted the new generation compact SUV with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder that makes 175 hp, with a base 184 lb-ft of torque, but for the upper-end trims, the powertrain can output up to 203 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with either a continuously variable transmission in front-wheel drive or an 8-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive.
The refreshed interior of the 2025 Chevy Equinox brings with it a much more streamlined layout so that there is more room, better accessibility, and ease of use for everything featured throughout the cabin. A more ergonomic layout with gradient trimming, a two-tone color scheme, and elevated controls for power windows and locks make it easier than ever to get into and out of the vehicle, as well as maintain a secure and comfortable cabin for you and other passengers. The center console has also been redesigned to accommodate more space, all without sacrificing functionality. This includes two cup holders, available wireless charging and smartphone storage, as well as quick access to USB ports.
The new layout for the center stack also proved advantageous for the engineers to include more real estate for the standard 11.3-inch HD touchscreen across the trim line, adding 3.3 additional inches of usable space over the outgoing model year. The new HD touchscreen also accompanies an 11-inch HD digital driver display cluster, which can also be configured and personalized with the information the driver finds useful. The infotainment stack has an available Google built-in operating suite, enabling you to access your favorite music, media, and apps at the touch of a button, with lightning-fast access and navigation, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Another thing worth noting is that part of the reason they were able to free up room for the center console stack is that they moved the electronic precision shifter from the center console to the steering column, making it easier to change drive modes from the driver's seat. Available heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats add to the convenience and comfort of The 2025 Equinox, along with adjustable power front seats, and the optional Evotex seating material. Storage compartments are sprinkled throughout the cabin, along with a hidden rear cargo floor compartment for keeping your goods, giving you a total of 29.8 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the rear seat and up to 63.5 cu.ft. of storage volume with the rear seat folded down.
All of the new changes made for the 2025 Chevy Equinox are significant, but none quite as important as the new safety suite. While safety has always been a big part of the Chevy lineup, the 2025 Equinox takes safety to the next level with updated safety assists, driver aids, and navigation support. This gives you added peace of mind while seated behind the wheel of Chevy's new generation compact SUV and an added sense of security when another family member is driving the vehicle, thanks to features like the Teen Driver Mode and Buckle-to-Drive. These features monitor your teen's driving habits and record how often certain aids and assists are utilized during travel, providing parents with a report card of their teen's driving performance.
The Teen Driver Mode complements the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which returns with all of the standard assists and functionality from the outgoing model year but with added features and functionality. Returning features such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Front Pedestrian Braking are there to ensure that no matter what trim you go with, the Equinox is looking out for you and others while on the road. Other standard features like the Following Distance Indicator are great for when you have Adaptive Cruise Control enabled, while Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning is perfect for staying alert and focused while traveling long distances or during difficult weather conditions. In addition, IntelliBeam helps with visibility while on the road.
Standard safety assists and driving aids such as Side Bicyclist Alert and Rear Vision Camera add to the safety and functionality of the Equinox. Tech convenience in the form of Adaptive Cruise Control, and features like Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert ensure that you don't accidentally clip or get clipped while changing lanes. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Enhanced Lane Keep Assist are excellent for mitigating potential collisions. When you throw in features like Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Rear Park Assist, you have a well-rounded and tech-rich compact SUV where form, functionality, and safety are all top priorities.
