Buying a 2023 Chevy Traverse makes perfect sense for busy families, but there’s a whole lot more to this three-row SUV than just sensibility. The Traverse continues its reign as a category leader, offering value and luxury along with ample safety and infotainment features specifically designed to keep you and your occupants entertained and out of harm’s way. With four exciting trims, selecting the ideal Traverse has never been easier.

What do you look for in a premium SUV? Many buyers want it all without having to spend luxury SUV prices. It’s possible with the 2023 Traverse because Chevy designed it with available equipment typically only found on high-end models. Features like wireless smartphone connectivity and a power liftgate are just a couple of examples of the amenities you’ll find on the Traverse.

Sliding behind the wheel, the first thing you’ll notice is the upscale cabin finishes. Whether you select a trim with cloth seats or opt for leather, you’ll quickly appreciate the roomy interior. In fact, it’s the largest SUV in the Chevy lineup that still delivers a car-like ride. Sure, you can opt for a Suburban or a Tahoe, but if you’re turned off by a more rugged road feel and truck-like handling, the Traverse has all the seating and cargo space you need without all that.

When a vehicle wears the Chevy bowtie, you can count on the highest levels of craftsmanship and quality. From fit-and-finish to curb appeal, the Traverse anchors Chevy’s SUV lineup as an aspirational model for growing families. If you need a capable SUV that can tow a boat or RV, save you money at the gas pump, and fit up to eight occupants with elbow room for all, the 2023 Chevy Traverse is the perfect fit.

  • Trims

Chevy offers the 2023 Traverse in multiple trims and configurations, allowing buyers plenty of opportunities to customize their SUV according to their individual budgets and lifestyle needs. From the affordable base LS trim to the fully loaded High Country, one of these Traverse models could be your next dream SUV.

    The Traverse LS

The Traverse LS starts at $33,920 and includes a full suite of driver-assist safety systems via the Chevy Safety Assist package.[a] These systems use radar, cameras, and sensors to continuously monitor the surrounding area as you operate your vehicle, alerting you to potential hazards and intervening in the event of an imminent collision.

Also standard on the Traverse LS is seating for eight passengers, premium cloth seating surfaces, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The wireless phone connection is unique on a base model, as it’s typically seen on much more expensive trims. Tri-zone automatic climate control is included in the LS, giving all three rows independent temperature controls.

The Traverse LT Cloth and LT Leather

Chevy offers the next level trim, the LT, with either cloth or leather seating. The LT Cloth also includes the buyer’s choice of 7-passenger or 8-passenger seating, 18-inch wheels, and a power driver’s seat. The LT Leather includes perforated leather seating, a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center, and a power liftgate that’s also programmable to multiple height settings. The LT Cloth adds two additional driver-assist systems: Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

    The Traverse RS

Moving up to the mid-range Traverse RS adds special black exterior accenting, including black roof rails, window moldings, and a trim-exclusive black front grille. Also standard is a set of 20-inch black aluminum wheels and a nifty 360-degree surround view camera that displays a live bird’s eye view of your Traverse and the area around it, which is helpful when navigating tight spots.

Other standard features include Adaptive Cruise Control, which automatically adjusts your speed to align with current traffic conditions, as well as a Bose premium 10-speaker audio system with a special Richbass subwoofer. The RS also adds Rear Pedestrian Alert, a system that picks up on any pedestrians entering the area behind your vehicle if you’re attempting to back up.

    The Traverse Premier

The upscale Traverse Premier takes the next step toward total luxury, with memory settings for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and outside mirrors, as well as a larger 8-inch infotainment touchscreen that runs on the latest Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system. The infotainment system includes navigation, displaying full-color maps and directions on the crisp HD display.

If you choose the Traverse Premier, you can opt to add the optional Redline Package, which adds distinctive black and red exterior accenting. Package extras include 20-inch glossy black wheels, special Redline decals, black Bowtie and Traverse badging, and black roof rails. Choosing this package also adds the Dual Skyscape 2-panel power sunroof.

    The Traverse High Country

At the top of the lineup sits the Traverse High Country, embodying high-end luxury and defining the Traverse at its most upscale. The High Country is packed with standard premium features, including power-folding third-row seats, a dual-panel sunroof with a fixed rear skylight that fills the cabin with natural light, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and dramatic jet-black leather seating with two-tone accenting.

The High Country adds heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators and makes standard the Convenience and Driver Confidence Package, which includes a digital driver display, heated front seats, a universal home remote, and a handy remote start feature. The High Country name is familiar among Chevy fans since most models include a top-of-the-line High Country trim. Traverse buyers looking for luxury will find it here.

  • Performance

One Engine Powerful Enough to Carry Eight People

All 2023 Traverse SUVs come equipped with a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 310 horsepower and produces 266 lb-ft of torque. It’s enough power to tow up to 5,000 pounds yet still remain remarkably fuel efficient. The Traverse achieves 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway when equipped with standard front-wheel drive. Add the available all-wheel drive and your fuel economy rating is still impressive: 17 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway.

At an overall length of 205.9 inches, the Traverse is a larger midsize SUV, but ride handling is more car-like, thanks to its unibody frame and crossover driving characteristics. The standard LED headlights and taillights improve visibility for both the driver and oncoming traffic, and active noise cancellation technology keeps the cabin exceptionally quiet.

The Traverse also gives you the ability to adjust your settings based on the conditions. The Drive Mode Selector allows you to switch between different modes and adjust your vehicle's performance. Front-Wheel Drive mode will get you the best fuel economy, Tow/Haul mode with help when you are bringing along a trailer, and Snow mode is best for snowy and icy conditions. If you have an all-wheel drive model, you'll also get the All-Wheel Drive mode for better traction and Off-Road mode for extra torque when on the trail.

  • Comfort & Convenience

    Conveniently Connected Tech

Among the many accolades heaped upon the 2023 Chevy Traverse is a nearly unanimous thumbs up for the family-friendly SUV’s robust infotainment system. The system is easy to use, intuitive, and lightning fast, making smartphone connectivity simple even for tech-averse drivers. In addition to the standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto found on every Traverse trim, the infotainment system creates opportunities for additional device integration.

Chevy’s myLink app-based connectivity system turns your smartphone into a remote key fob and data hub. Via optional subscription-based services, Traverse buyers can add a wide range of conveniences and connected services, including live OnStar operator support. With OnStar, you can get help with everything from roadside assistance to dinner reservations. You will also be connected with a team of trained operators who can dispatch emergency help if you ever need it.

As for comfort, the Traverse offers one of the most spacious cabins in the category. Even adults won't feel cramped when they are sitting in the back row since the rear seats offer a roomy 33.5 inches of legroom. When the second and third rows are folded flat, the Traverse converts to a true cargo hauler, offering 98.2 cubic feet of available space.
