As part of a mid-generation refresh, the 2025 Chevy Suburban features a ton of exciting new updates and overhauls to one of Chevy's longest-running nameplates. The full-size SUV has received a smattering of welcoming changes and updates to make it more comfortable, tech-rich, safe, and stylish for those looking to own a large three-row SUV that is capable of seating up to eight passengers. This is in addition to some changes to the performance choices, as well as some very striking exterior customization options.
Part of the new features for the 2025 model includes a redesigned exterior that shares a design language synergy with other Chevy vehicles, such as the new Traverse, Blazer, Silverado, and Trailblazer. This includes a bold new grille design with all-new signature C-shaped LED lighting. The all-new fascia is also accompanied by sleek new exterior body lines, such as a sharpened C-Pillar for a refined look depending on the trim you opt to go with. Additionally, there are all new wheel designs, including exquisite 24-inch rims, available for the first time on the RST and High Country trims.
All new interior designs also help define the 2025 model year Chevy Suburban, keeping it quite competitive with segment rivals such as the Ford Expedition, Toyota Grand Highlander, and the Nissan Armada. Some of these changes include a more streamlined tech suite with a larger digital driver display and infotainment touchscreen. Enhanced safety features are now standard, while new interior options and storage space have been implemented to make the 2025 Suburban more convenient. You can get the new model year full-size SUV in six different trims, including the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and the High Country.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban is available with three different powertrains in either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, which includes the 3.0-liter Duramax inline 6-cylinder turbo-diesel. The Duramax engine makes 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. It enables the Suburban to tow up to 8,100 lbs worth of cargo, which is great if you want to use the Suburban for more than just transportation but also for trailering equipment or cargo for vacations or recreation. The other two powertrains also return, including the 5.3-liter Ecotec3 V8 that makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and enables you to two up to 8,200 lbs, and the 6.2-liter Ecotec3 V8 that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque that allows you to tow up to 8,000 lbs with the Suburban. All three powertrains are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Z71 in particular is designed to give the Suburban a lot of rugged appeal, which includes being able to venture off-road thanks to the four-wheel drive and the rugged front fascia. You have a high-approach front bumper and skid plates to protect the undercarriage, making the Suburban great for all types of utility. The full-size SUV trims also come equipped with roof side rails for cross-bar customization or cargo-carrying capabilities.
The electric power-assisted steering makes it relatively easy to handle the Suburban on the road thanks to the independent coil-over shocks in the front and the independent multi-link shocks and stabilizer bar in the rear of the vehicle. The Suburban is even available with four-corner air ride adaptive suspension for auto-leveling and ride-height adjustment. But if you want the ultimate suspension upgrade, there is the Magnetic Ride Control functionality for dynamic damping so that the vehicle will adjust how it performs on or off the road based on the terrain and how the sensors determine how bumpy or uneven the road is.
The entire interior cabin of the 2025 Suburban has been redesigned to accommodate a much more streamlined experience. This includes all new storage options available for the driver and passengers alike; this gives you multiple ways and areas to store your goods, including on the side door panels, the center console, the armrests, the seatbacks, and in the rear cargo area. You have three rows to make use of, with up to 41.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the third row, up to 93.8 cu.ft. of cargo volume with the third row folded down, and up to 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo volume with the second and third row folded down. You also have an all-new steering wheel design with improved media control accessibility available right on the steering itself.
Available heated, power-adjustable front seats are designed to give you comfort and relaxation while on the road and include two different driver memory settings. There is also the available leather upholstery that comes in various new material designs, including Victory Red stitching for the RST trim or the all-new dual Jet Black and Sky Cool Gray design available for the Premier trim. The cabin is also buffered by other material updates to drape the Suburban in luxury, including Piano Black accents with Galvano chrome or the Jet Black and Mocha color combination with authentic wood décor for the High Country trim.
There are also a lot of basic amenities and conveniences retained in the Suburban's design as well for the 2025 model year, such as grab handles, power outlets, and charging ports across the multi-row SUV. What's more is that automatic climate control is still a given, along with convenience features such as power windows and locks. The available AutoSense Power Liftgate also makes it easy to access the rear cargo hold for all of your belongings, camping gear, vacation equipment, or work material.
A big update for the 2025 model Suburban is in its tech suite: all-new safety features, a new infotainment stack, and new tech support. On the safety side, the Chevy Safety Assist is still present with the six basic driver assist features and alerts, such as Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian, and Bicyclist Braking, IntelliBeam with automatic high beam assist, and Forward Collision Alert. But you also get other safety features, including Teen Driver mode with Buckle-to-Drive reminders, as well as all-new Interior Motion Detection that can monitor micro-movements in the vehicle when it is parked and turned off and raise awareness for the driver.
Other enhanced safety features include the available Connected Cameras so that you can remotely view interior and exterior aspects of the vehicle, which is great for Crash Recording, Security Recording, and the My Recordings feature that you can use to save and store dash cam footage to the cloud. The camera technology also works in tandem with the improved trailering technology, which includes Forward Path Indication to help with navigating a pathway while trailering a large load using the camera sensors. The Hitch View and Boat Ramp Assist use the cameras to align the Suburban with the trailer. There is also the all-new trailer tire health indicator and trailer navigation support to utilize the infotainment system to find the best route for when you're carrying a large trailer on the back of the Suburban.
The navigation support is also enhanced thanks to the availability of the semi-autonomous driving system known as Super Cruise. You have hundreds of thousands of miles of compatible roads across North America, where the vehicle can experience the hands-free driving experience for yourself. You can monitor the settings or alter the navigation inputs thanks to the all-new canted infotainment deck, featuring a 17.7-inch HD touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as an accompanying 11-inch digital driver display with customizable profiles. Two additional rear-seat touchscreens are also available for second-row passengers, where they can access movies, games, and other media while on the go. Plus, there is wireless charging for your smart devices and the availability of a Bose surround sound system so you can get the most out of your audio listening experience during your travels.
